The eight teams participating in the Big Bash League are franchise teams representing various cities across Australia.

1. Adelaide Strikers

Adelaide Strikers are a franchise T20 team from the city of Adelaide, playing their home matches at the Adelaide Oval.

They were crowned champions only once in the history of the Big Bash League, and they won their only title in the BBL 2017/18 edition.

Adelaide Strikers had a disappointing campaign in the most recent BBL edition. They are looking to regain momentum and have added more firepower to their roster ahead of the new BBL season, starting in December 2025.

Brisbane Heat finished 7th in the 2024/25 edition of the BBL. They ended the season with a disappointing performance. But they have an experienced squad, and the latest additions will boost their chances for the upcoming BBL season.

Stars retained most of their star players and signed Liam Hatcher and Mitch Swepson for the new season. The presence of Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis will bring experience to the side.

Despite a strong squad, they missed the playoffs in the most recent 2025 Season of the Big Bash League. However, with a balanced mix of experienced players and exciting young talent, the Scorchers are well-prepared to mount a serious title challenge this season.
